Despite strong winds that prevented the planned Friday night mass balloon ascent, the crowds turned out in force to enjoy Tiverton's 2014 Balloon Festival. The spectacular night glow went ahead as planned and the mass ascent was accomplished on the Saturday morning instead.
The main music stage of the festival showcased a variety of artists, bands and musicians, including folk and blues trio Velvet & Stone, funk/soul band Electric Spank and 15 year old singer/songwriter Natalie Shay.
The festival was based at the combined Tiverton High School and Petroc campus on Bolham Road, Tiverton and is run as a 'not for profit' event which, in 2013, donated almost £9,000 to good causes including the Devon Air Ambulance & Childrens Hospice South West.
Unfortunately due to other commitments I was only able to cover Friday night and the Saturday mass ascent but I hope to cover the whole event in 2015.
